Bases Loaded Showdown- 702 Warriors

The weekend of April 16th & 17th the Warriors played in the "Bases Loaded Showdown" Most of the teams registered were majors and AAA, but you cant grow as a team unless you play some tough teams.  Day 1 we played the LV Saints (who we had just played in spring league, and won), and the LV Patriots. Both of the other teams came ready to play, and fight hard. The Saints, and Patriots both took the win.

Day 2 we played the Nevada Road Dawgs. They basically creamed us. Which I wasnt expecting, the Road Dawgs are hit & miss on how they play. This day they were on "hit".

some of the other boys:

We may have lost, but you learn from those losses. We have an amazing group of coaches, and an amazing group of hard working boys. They have been putting in the hours at the practices. So:

For this tournament we had 2 new players. One joined the team before the last tournament, but was out of town, so he couldnt play.

"Chappie" Aka Trevin.
Xander played with him on the Piranhas. I know the leaving the piranhas was hard for him and his family, as they were with them from the start. I know they still have a lot of love and respect for the owners, and players. Xander couldnt have been more happy to have him come on. I am happy to have his parents with us as well!
Another player is:

Anthony
He joined just before this tournament. Xander played with him on the Pumas. Anthony and Xander were always close, so Xander was excited to play with him as well.
Xander and Anthony's dad had a good talk (He was Xanders Puma coach), after a practice one night. So they can develop a new relationship.
Im excited to have Jennifer (Anthonys mom) around. I've always enjoyed her company!

We are building our roster, as the team will split into 2 teams later this summer.
Next tournament is the Cinco de Mayo one.

Team Defender Ad

 We all remember this:

Well if you dont, I always will! Playing in Utah for the Piranhas. Caught the ball at home plate, the 3rd base runner slid in and grabbed Xanders gloves, pulling it back. We are thinking he was hoping Xander would drop the ball. Well, Xander didnt, and the kid was out! With the force of the kid pulling his glove away and Xander pulling it in, it broke his thumb/hand.  A trip to the ER, multiple doctors appointments and a couple months of no baseball.. Art made him wear a thumb guard glove, from Team Defender (<--click for web site). Xander wasnt too thrilled at first, he had to get used to it..but now he ALWAYS wears it.
Art thanked "Team Defender" (and sent them a picture of Xander wearing the glove) because they recently sent Xander a free glove to try out their new material. Well, they asked if they could use Xander in their ad!! DUH of course! The picture they used is this one:

If your child is a catcher this is a must buy! We are lucky Xander brake was clean and it healed, and he can play again. Some may not be so lucky! We wont take that chance again!

Well here it is:
He is in frame 1:21
Thank you Team Defender!!
