Spring Baseball in the Desert 2016

This tournament was during the boys spring break. I took the days off, and Im so glad I did as the games were early ones! I often wish I could quit working and just be a full time baseball mom, but I guess I need something to do during the day cause Xander is in school...
So day 1 we were up and ready to go:
We played DC Storm (from Utah). They were okay.. We lost by one run, but in my eyes we tied because the ump made a bad call at home plate. So DC was just lucky. They actually won the entire event.. (like I said lucky..)

This is Xanders coach, Joe Domingo. He and his wife are the ones who basically run the team. They are both amazing.
Xander really likes, respects and trusts all the Warriors coaches. He has nothing but positive things to say about them all!

He caught in game 1

And of course we have Alex here. Always great to watch Alex coach.
(Jesse was working, and some other coaches did as well during this game)

boys "lost" by one run. (I still say tied.. you'll see, I will post the video)

Game 2 was vs Slammers Elite from Colorado. Our games were back to back, but they had maybe 15 minutes between to eat quickly. They all grabbed a small snack, and I went into the dugout with a bunch of chocolate bars (smaller ones).  I wanted to make sure they were sugared up!

He played 2nd base as well.

We won game 2!!
All the boys played their hearts out! They were loud, they hit, and they ran.

DAY 2 ready to go! We were set to play So. NV Hit Squad.

Coach Sonny was here for this one. He is fun to watch coach. To me, I think he coaches like Alex, not as vocal on the field, but still vocal and animated. During warm-ups Sonny was with the boys, and was far away.. told the boys who ever could hit him with the ball, gets money. (or something like that anyways). All I know is Xander made money off of him, $1, and they put it in his helmet holder.

Xander played outfield. I think left field.. (still learning those spots). He played great! Made some amazing catches! Awhile back, outfield was a place they put kids and there was no real plays out there. Now the kids are older and hitting balls out there all the time! So it is an active place to be.

 He also plays 2nd.

 We won this game!
We won by 5 runs. The boys played hard, and aggressive!

Game 4 was against this team from Taylorsville, UT. A bunch of tall boys who were killing all the teams this tournament!

We lost this game, by a lot, but these warriors kept fighting. Knowing this team was just killing everyone else didnt stop these boys from fighting.

So below is a couple of our coaches (and another mom) they are taking score on this great app the team uses! ISCORE. This app is great, especially for Art who is away. He gets lives updates and play by plays of the games. When he has the volume on, its like listening to a live radio podcast of the game. Which helps me a lot so I dont always have to give him multiple updates!

This tournament I learned something new about the team. They all arent related. I hear the kids call other moms "Auntie". I assumed, they were related. Well, I was called "auntie" this tournament, multiple times. I almost cried the first time. Was like I felt, I was excepted. I have always felt that way, but this was now.. I am family to. I know now its a Hawaiian culture thing (as a sign of respect) which of course made me feel closer to my grandpa again. It melted my heart every time I heart "Auntie Amie".
Here are some of the Warrior family members. A lot of parents works as these were on Thursday and Friday, and due to the heat, some where in the grassy areas, cooling down.

We didnt play on Satuday. We seeded 5th, and only the top 4 teams played. Im still proud of these warriors and so happy to be apart of this wonderful family.
Xander truly has the best situation right now. He is playing for Alex & Jesse again. Now he has more coaches that are completely amazing, that he can learn from. He plays with boys that show up for practice and you can tell they love baseball like Xander does, and take it serious, they come and are ready to learn, for sure no goofing off. They yell like Xander does during games (okay well maybe not just like Xander).  You see they all love each other and get along so great! Its really a perfect fit for him. Of course very beneficial for me as well!
Okay so here the videos:
