Piranhas Cages

The owners of the team (John and Holly), own and run their own cages. While we were there they were still working on it, but the cages side was up and running! Used to be a car dealership, so its very big!
We had lots of fun there, and the boys put in a lot of work there!

The piranhas did this thing called "king of the cages" Once a week (or a couple times a month), the boys would each go up to bat. If they struck out, they went and sat down. The last one standing (hitting) was king of the cage!
It was usually the same boy every time, but once in awhile another kid got lucky!

Xander did not get king of the cage here, but this is a picture of him, and Juan. Juan won that week. He asked me to take this picture of the 2 of them. They developed a very close bond! The belt is the "King of the Cage" belt!

One time this guy showed up and worked with the boys. Josh Towers(former major league player/pitcher)

Sometimes the dads helped out with some fun batting battles. The coaches worked these boys hard, but always made a way to add some fun into it!
Speaking of working hard:

and also having some fun time:
The coaches liked to listen to a couple stations, Every once in awhile, when the boys got a break.. and the coaches were not in view.. They changed the station! As you see, we have a "look out" boy, and then 3 of the boys about to get to the radio.

We spend a good amount of time here. At first we had the entire place to our self, but business picked up, and we shared the cages with other teams, and random people just wanting to hit.

The Cages became Xander's 2nd home over the summer, While I worked, he was being picked up by Coach Alex and/or Holly and would be here. He got a lot of one on one time with Alex, which did amazing things for Xanders hitting. He also helped out at the cages a bit. Xander enjoyed that time, he bonded with the owners, with Juan and especially Alex. He developed a huge respect for Alex, and really used everything he was learning from Alex. The development he got that summer helped him and now, he has been hitting multiple home runs! Really all that credit goes to Alex, and Xanders hard work and dedication. He could have spent that time with his friends.. but he chose this.
One on one time with Alex..

(no worries he still had a lot of fun down time, at cowabunga bay, and at friends houses!)

Including downtime at the cages:
Video games, after the TV was installed!
